VEGA wins the WIKARUS 2025

VEGA International has been honored with the WIKARUS 2025 award in the category “Innovation.” The WIKARUS is one of the most prestigious business awards in the province of Salzburg and is presented annually by the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes our forward-thinking development, the r2L connector – a system that makes it possible to load non-craneable semi-trailers efficiently and safely onto rail.

With this innovation, we are making a meaningful contribution to the sustainable transformation of vehicle logistics. New vehicles from leading brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and MAN can now be transported with minimal mileage and up to 90 percent lower CO₂ emissions compared to conventional road transport. Since the first deployment in 2016, over 1,500 r2L units have been produced, and demand continues to grow.

This award is a great honor and a strong signal that sustainable technology and entrepreneurial responsibility truly make a difference.
